Hoodwings
Hoodwings are a Wings of Fire fanflight originally created by voxel.ito! While linked to the Wings of Fire world, Hoodwings exist in their own version of the universe where lore has slightly changed to accomodate the new content and characters. Hoodwings are a closed species and can be obtained through adopts and customs from staff or by earning them in events.
Hoodwings live in a kingdom on Pyrrhia. Their kingdom owns the bottom west corner of the continent, encompassing part of the desert, rainforest, and the old Nightwing territory on the "Claw" of the landmass. Most of their region is a mesa. Lots of custom worldbuilding has been done to create a lively, realistic fan-made Pyrrhia kingdom, with a new take on technology and history too.Worldbuilding is a work in progress, but there's a lot to explore already! INFORMATION
A chill has settled over the mesas. Within the night, the sound of chiming bells and frosting winds howling through wind veins brings thoughts of merrytime. Strange trinkets have been left on doorsteps, and dragons within the bazaars have found fruits to be touched with frost come morning. Some question if the change of seasons has affected the early morning dews, while others recount a strange visitor wandering about. Many say the mysterious individual has been visiting those with kindness and gift-giving in their hearts, leaving behind coin and wares in return for their warmth within the coming winter. Perhaps he'll return to the one who's earned enough of his coin.
Hello all, and welcome to the new gifting event for the species! To celebrate the spirit of giving, the staff team is hosting an event that will reward you for creating art of others' characters as gifting. There are no requirements to participate in this event, only on the art pieces you create! This event will close on December 31st, 2021.
To enter a character, please head over to the discord's hood-offerings channel, fill out the form in the pinned messages, and send them in! To submit an entry, head to the discord's winter-entries channel and fill out the form in the pinned messages! Entry requirements are also posted in the pinned messages of said channel.
RULES
Do not guilt trip, nor demand art from another user in return. Along with this comes begging particular artists.
However, based on the statement above, it is desired that you create some form of art in return as you will be rewarded in coin for any entry. This is not required, but would be kind.
Harassment will not be tolerated.
You may not participate if you are blacklisted by the species; this is a given, but some may be unaware or somehow still within this server.
This event is for drawing hoodwings only; HOWEVER:
If you don't have a hoodwing, you may submit one non-hoodwing character for users to draw in return for art.Attempting to falsify the amount of currency you have or lie about how many pieces of art you have done will come at a severe consequence.
You must ping the user who owns the character you've made art of when submitting, and must fill out the proper form in order for your entry to be counted.
You must submit entries in individual messages. Do not submit more than one art piece per message or we will not be able to properly track how much currency per piece with our system.
You can check how many coin you have earned by using the discord's bank! channel. Please check the pinned messages in the channel for rules regarding commands and your balance.
Rewards
Participating in this event will grant the reward of species currency! The amount of species currency earned is determined by the entries, and requirements are stated below.

All pieces must be lined and colored at the bare minimum.
Pixel art and YCHs will not be accepted.
Reusing the same lineart and making minimal modifications from character to character will not be allowed either. If major lineart similarities are found, the art piece will not count towards your coin and doing so a second time may result in a disqualification.
Headshots are worth two (2) coin, and full bodies are worth ten (10) coin.
Digital or traditional painting of the above pieces will add an additional four (4) coin.
The highest price during this event is 40 coin, and I'd advise you work either to this limit or beyond it!
Any extra coin, may you wish to keep creating gift art, will be stored for your own use within the world at a later date, or perhaps exchanged for future items.
You may not demand anything in return for this gift art from the user it is for.
Please use a different character for each entry to gain currency that will count towards this event.
Any time a character is drawn twice by the same person, the second entry's currency will not count towards your total in this event, but will still be banked for you to use outside of this event.When drawing multiple characters, we'll need the artwork to be submitted as two individual entries (or more, depends on how many different hoods are in the art).
For the first entry, you'll link the first character you want to cash in on, and for the second, the second character in the drawing you want to cash in on. However, it will still have to be lined and colored for each one to count, and must either be a headshot of fullbody. You will not get points for drawing your own hood.

An elegant figure danced across the sky with wings made of stardust and a tail of a comet. They smiled towards you, a gentle look upon their face as they stretched their talons outward. The golden jewelry hung on their body glistened in the moonlight and they spoke with such a kind, welcoming voice.
"Tell me, little one, what do you wish for?"
š I hope you're all just as excited about this design as I am! They are a night/hoodwing hybrid inspired by the comet Leonard, which could be spotted throughout the month of December! Comet Leonard was discovered in January and finally made it to our planet this month, earning it the name "the Christmas Comet". Earlier in the month, it could be spotted with the naked eye! It will never be seen again in our lifetime, so was quite an exciting event~
REQUIREMENTS & INFORMATION
The raffle is free to enter, but you must have at least 40 coins in your bank! If you are chosen and you do not have enough coins, I will reroll. You have until the end of the event to earn enough coins! Currently, the Timezone is being discussed but you still have time to enter. We will announce when the event is officially closed.
In order to be added to the raffle, write down something your oc would wish for this New Years! Preferably a hoodwing oc, but if you do not have one, you can use a non-hoodwing oc! For example: "Nymph wishes to see her loved ones more often!" Remember, it must be appropriate and shouldn't contain any triggering topics. Your comment will be marked with a ā¤ when you've recieved your roll!
FTOs will recieve an extra roll to increase their chances! So, if you are a fto, please say so in your comment! Don't try lying, I will check. Your comment will be marked with a š when you've recieved your extra roll!

To make it fair for others, you will not be counted if you enter the raffle and have already won an adopt from the events! If I happened to miss you and you get chosen, I will reroll.

As kind as it would be, please do not enter this raffle with the intention of gifting the hoodwing to someone else who also entered. It would unfairly increase their chances. The best thing you can do to increase your friend's chances is not enter ^^
Warning! Do not use another account to gain an extra roll.
Please do not enter this raffle with the intention to trade them immediately after the two week cooldown or use them as a trading chip. If I see that you have attempted to break cooldown or trade them immediately after cooldown, I may ask you to return them so I can roll a better owner. This only applies to the first owner If this happens, you will recieve your coins back.
I will transfer the toyhouse to the winner when they have confirmed and paid! If you do not have a toyhouse account, there are plenty of people who will give you a code for free.
The winner will be chosen sometime on New Year's day and will be given 24 hours to claim their prize! If they fail to do so, another winner will be rolled.

STAFF
* Before staff, there were designs created by friends of the owner to be distributed to the community. The species first gained a staff team, aside from the original owner (voxel.ito), in 2019. Since then, rankings have shifted, and one round of staff auditions has been held and closed. The current team is comprised of eleven members, including the founder and the current owner. Promotions occur throughout the year as activity & dedication is acknowledged. The masterlist is managed by two members, soladatura and homalculus. The toyhouse world is managed by aaimasqtch. Most cosmetic work (coding, organization of the discord, toyhouse world formatting) is done by aaimasqtch, with some edits by soladatura and recommendations from other staff members.*

viceroy
The viceroyās job is to help answer questions, make adopts, hold contests, etc. They are able to edit and update the masterlist, and alike loresmiths, also aid in writing and creating Hoodwing lore and NPCs. This role is also informally referred to as the āHeadmaster Loresmithā. They receive one personal myo per month, with the ability to add a mutation to one MYO every six months.
advisor
Advisor is the highest rank aside from vicerory and owner. Advisors are trusted with handling situations involving strikes, blacklistings, and bans from community spaces-- this position could be compared to that of an "admin". They oversee other operations, and may also draft lore ideas, create NPCs as needed, answer questions, and perform all responsibilities that senators and loresmiths do. Users with this role may sell up to four adopts per month, and have two additional adopt slots to make free designs for events such as bio-to-adopts, draw-to-adopts, raffles and giveaways. They receive one personal myo per month, with the ability to add a mutation to one MYO every six months.
senator
Senators are around to help with ideas, answer questions, talk about lore, and perform general moderation of the discord (including enforcing general rules and handing out warnings as needed). They may sell up to two adopts per month, and have one additional adopt slot for a free design. They receive one personal myo every three months, with the ability to add a mutation to one MYO every six months.
loresmith
Loresmiths are responsible for drafting lore ideas for the species. They may also design NPCs for various uses as needed. They may create a free design once every three months in an alternating schedule with the other loresmiths to be raffled, set as a draw-to-adopt, a bio-to-adopt, or placed in a giveaway. They receive one personal myo every three months, with the ability to add a mutation to one MYO every six months.

CLASS GUIDE
Cobra
The Cobra class is well known for their very large and flashy hoods. As this classes blood is almost exclusive to the royal family itās a relatively rare sight. These dragons are often mid sized to large but are more slim than muscular. They are fast flyers and masters of intimidation. Though they have the strongest venom out of all classes their short fixed fangs sometimes make it difficult to inject venom, especially when it comes to dragons with thick hides.

Python
What they lack in venom, they make up for in brute strength. This class of Hoodwings are generally large and are said to have strength rival to that of a Mudwing. They also tend to be the most well armored of Hoodwings. With large scales and thick hides they make great brawlers. Like the adder class, because of their bulk these dragons donāt fly all that often.

Adder
Similar to the Python class, these dragons are very bulky and strong and donāt fly often. The main distinction between the Adder and Python classes is the venom. Adders have strong venom but arenāt nearly as active as Pythons. Adders are very lazy and slow moving.

Mamba
The mamba class is the most common class among Hoodwings, most often dragons that are a mix of two classes are placed into this group. They are the average Hoodwing. But out of all of the classes they have the perfect balance of speed, venom, and strength.

Crotalus
Unlike most Hoodwings, Crotalus have much greater endurance. Sacrificing the normal stealth and maneuverability, these dragons are able to fly long distance. Their large wings allow for this but they tend to be somewhat clumsy and drag their wings because of their weight. With a high heat tolerance they glide across the desert with ease. They are relatively medium/small sized and more slim than muscular.

Viper
Generally the smallest of Hoodwings, these dragons are very quick and flexible. Dawning one of the most potent venoms of the Hoodwings, they have long retractable fangs which make it easy to inject.
